Vintage Log Cabin trinket box by the Metropolitan Museum of Art!
This information on this quirky hand painted folk art replica box is from my internet search:

LOG CABIN WITH CAT
American, Philadelphia, 1852

"Crocks and jugs are typical of nineteenth-century American salt glazed stoneware. These objects frequently have a gray color with cobalt blue underglaze decoration, sometimes with ornaments in low relief and sgraffito. This unusual box is adapted from a stoneware object in the form of a log cabin with an oversized cat perched on the roof. The original was made by Thomas Haig of Philadelphia, and is now in the collection of The Brooklyn Museum.

The copy, like the original, is slip-cast in stoneware. Because each piece is painted by hand, no two are exactly alike."

Box is in good vintage condition, minor chippy on cat's ear and on the inside interior, as shown in the photos. Marked on the underside: MMA
